Mr. Ganesh Sherchan is the general secretary and organizational department chief in the Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal (RPP-N). Born in 1944 in Pokhara, Kaski, Mr. Sherchan has been involved in politics since his student life. Mr. Sherchan was student union's chairman for two years in Prithvi Narayan Campus. He later became the chief of Kaski Nagarpanchayat for nine years. He became a member of the Rastriya Panchayat in 1981. Mr. Sherchan is also a former assistant Communication Minister.Mr. Sherchan was involved in journalism as a publisher and editor for a long period and a member of Press Council. He worked as a special advisor to then Prime Minister Lokendra Bahadur Chand. A Central Committee member of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) in 1990, Mr. Sherchan had also worked as a spokesperson for RPP led by Rajeshwor Devkota. In 2004 Mr. Sherchan became the regional administrator of Far-western region during the Royal regime.
